About:
Students in PK3 through fifth grade come as a class to the library for engaging and inclusive storytimes, Makerspace and STEAM activities, book talks, lessons on navigating a library, and to check out library books. Throughout the year the library hosts author visits, a book fair, literacy nights, and guest readers to promote excitement for reading! Students are welcome to come to the library and find a new book whenever they need one.
Visitors and Volunteers:
We are excited to welcome family members into the library as volunteers or guest readers! We strongly believe that families and schools make great partners in building strong literacy foundations in a child, and we encourage families to engage in their student’s school experience.
If you are interested in being a guest reader for grades kindergarten through third, including FLS, please sign up through this link: Kocurek Library Guest Readers

Reading Rewards
Students in kindergarten through fifth grade are invited to complete a “Book Bingo” board every 9 weeks. The boards will encourage students to read for pleasure at home and students who complete a board will be entered into a raffle to win exciting prizes!
Students in third through fifth grade are eligible to participate in the Texas Bluebonnet Reading Program. Students must read (or listen to) five of the 20 Bluebonnet books by January 15th to vote for their favorite book, 10 of the 20 Bluebonnet books by March 1st to participate in the Bluebonnet Breakfast, and 15 of the 20 Bluebonnet books to receive a free book at the Spring book fair. Students are responsible for completing a Google quiz for each book they read. For more information on the reading challenge and incentives, please visit Mrs. Yacoub’s library hub: Kocurek Library Hub
